Quando nada está em relação física com você

- nem as pessoas, nem as coisas.

Tudo ali, mas sem entre haver relação real compreensível

- Isto, à noite...

Durante o dia o efeito é atenuado, como irreflexo

- A luz faz isto?

É saber que existem, estão lá, diferentemente longe

- não há aqui sentimento de importância para com suas existências.

É uma distância que se instaura no momento exato da percepção

- aponta uma dúvida sobre a real existência do entorno.

Instiga um sentimento de liberdade

- uma espécie de desmistificação da morte.

Também acontece com relação ao corpo: Nada é meu.

Nada é vital - no sentido de ser tanto a ponto de ser assim entendido.

Esta percepção se insinua, acusatória de um estado

que aponta um estágio - algo impensado, insentido, que virá depois.

As 15 obras expostas fazem parte da produção de 2006 e 2007 e foram criadas digitalmente, impressas em duratrans e instaladas em caixa-de-luz. Estão expostas no interior de um tubo/caverna de tecido, escuro, onde a única luz existente é a que vem das obras. Dispostas no chão, com cadeiras, pufes e almofadas ao lado, convidam o observador a se demorar em seu fruir.

A ambientação sem iluminação que não seja a gerada pelas próprias imagens propõe aos visitantes um estado de relaxamento e isolamento do mundo externo, convidando para que também entrem no tempo sem tempo e estabeleçam uma mais intensa relação com aquilo que a obra lhe comunica e desperta, e também consigo próprio.

Em meu processo de criação, que acontece pelo viés da não crítica, não questionamentos de objetivos e não pré-definição de nortes estéticos, o processo de desenvolvimento das imagens parte de um traço, cor ou forma aleatórios que levam à necessidade da descoberta do próximo traço, cor, textura, etc., conduzindo a um resultado inesperado e revelador, posto que o processo de criação acontece no tempo sem tempo; numa espécie de estado alterado de consciência que impregna de simbologia inconsciente a obra, e que acaba por comunicar possibilidades irreveladas de olhar e percepção.

A performance realizada por mim, no dia da abertura da exposição, se dá de forma a que eu/artista também esteja exposto como co-participante do universo inconsciente proposto, e assim, também seja motivo de observação por parte dos visitantes.

A busca de interação com os visitantes está também ancorada na possibilidade de troca contida nos registros das impressões destes, assim como na divulgação da compilação destas impressões.

Introduction / Release

 

When nothing is physically related to you

– neither the people nor things. Everything is there, but with no real and comprehensible recollection in between

– This, at Night…

During the day the effect is attenuated, as a non reflex

– The light can do that?

Knowing that it exists, it’s all in there, differently far

– There’s no feeling of importance here about your lives.

It’s a distance that is installed at the exact same moment of perception

– It point out some doubt about a real existence around.

Acute a feeling of freedom

– Somehow a demystification of death.

It also happens in relation to the body: Nothing is mine. Nothing is vital

– At the very on sense of being something that could be understood.

This perception insinuates for itself, accusing an estate of moment

– Unthought-of, Un-Sensed, That Will Come.

 

 

The 15 works, exposed images, are part of the production of 2006 and 2007 and were digitally created, printed in duratrans and installed on a light-box format. They are exposed in a tent/cave of fabric, dark, where the only light is the one coming from existing works. Displayed on the floor, with chairs and cushions alongside invite the viewer to take in and enjoy.

The ambience brings a lightning that the images generates by their own and offers to the visitors a state of relaxation and isolation of the world outside, asking to also enter the time without time and establish a more intensive relationship with what it communicates to work and arouses, and also with itself.

In my process of creation, held by the bias of not criticism, not questions of goals and not pre-definition of esthetic ways, the development process of images of a trace, color or shape random leading to need for the discovery of the next dash, color, texture, etc; leading to an unexpected result and revealing, since the process of creation happens in time without time, a kind of altered state of consciousness that impregnates unconscious symbolism of the work, and that ultimately communicate unrevealed possibilities of perception.

The performance conducted by me, on the opening of the exhibition, is given so that I/Artist also am exposed as a co-participant of the unconscious universe that is proposed, and thus also be a cause for observation from visitors.

The search for interaction with visitors is also anchored in the possibility of an exchange of views contained in these records, as well as the dissemination of the compilation of these views.

Rubens Curi – Plastic Artist, Director of Shows, Choreographer, Actor. Was born in Ponta Grossa/PR. Lived in Curitiba/PR and is currently living in Sao Paulo/SP. Since 1994.

 

“I began with the Plastic Arts, and then came the Dance and the Theater, all of these happening on an absolutely spontaneous process, without searches or bigger efforts. Alongside, I also discovered the beauty of telling me (and to the world witch am I observe) trough words, sentences and by all of those things that emerge from these junctions, including none of these. I participated in collective and individual, Dance and Experimental Theater groups, I acted, Choreographed, Directed Gym Dances, Shows, created in ensemble, in loneliness and by last entering in a state of mutation, alienation, isolation – almost 10 years locked in the tower, and also cog nominated, by friends, as “The Paulista Beggar” (It honors me).

Nowadays I’m not and don’t want to be taken as a “professional” in non of the compartments of these so called working areas, cause today I know that what interest me the most is to let the artist to exercise, so that I will increasingly be it in me. That’s the way, and only the way that I feel full and do what I do at the moment that I’ll be doing it.

I don’t search! I’ll fulfill me by turning corners and co-confront ting with the live validation of what I carry out.”
